we get last minute requests for black and white images to accompany the strips-sometimes they come out ok-but i am usually moaning by then..why didnt they ask me earlier?..mutter mutter harrumph....stomp...that sort of thing..

But black in particular.
to be honest-i love working like this-but even the simpler stuff we get asked to do is all bells and whistles..all the time.
we are producing two books for the US at the moment and i am determined to change direction on these-the trouble is it always starts with..we like that thing there..we want ours like that...etc..tell me more about your lovely repeat clients..your 'letter' a few posts ago was priceless.

You say "we like that thing there..we want ours like that".
How many have I seen that start out saying "Oh I want something original and new" and then you show them something and they say "Oh, that's all a bit original and new".
Or they say "Oh I want something original and new - something like the new McDonalds commercial" and you want to say "You want orginal and new or you want McDonalds?".
Feel free to copy and paste my letter and change the name of your clients as is necessary.
Nice compositions. I personally find it a challenge when I don't have color to fall back on, but you pulled it off beautifully.
